Însemnări privind relaţia regalităţii geto-dacice cu sacerdoţiul dionisiac

Abstract:

The Dacian society was dominated by the cult of Dionysos, which acted as a true „state religion”. This is the context according to which one must reinterpret not only the data about Zalmoxes, but also the adoption of the anthroponym Kotys/Cotiso by many Thraco-Dacian kings. This interpretative model is required and at the same time supported by the iconography of the pre-Roman era in the Lower Danube area, as well as several literary details.
