Limitele spaţiale ale imaginarului roman. Lucretius şi Manilius

Abstract:

The article discusses the concept of spatial limits of the Roman imaginary through the description of the universe found in the works of two important Latin poets, Lucretius and Manilius, each of them being influenced by a certain version of the Greek-Roman cosmology. While Lucretius uses the imagination to explore, step by step, the depths of a rather infinite universe, Manilius is more concerned about the intricacies of relations between the laws of the univers, that is imuable and governed by a god, and the peoples lives.
