Considerations regarding the „ptolemaic gentes” from Dacia
Historical sources offer us, for the time of the conquest of Dacia by the Roman Empire, two series of data with demographic potential: the census of the population in the conquered territory (echoing the late record of Ioannes Lydus) and the mentions of the geographer Claudios Ptolemaios on local communities and, respectively, their main localities. The correlation of these data leads to some interesting observations.
